Faith Over Fear – A Mountain Top Experience Have you ever had a “mountain-top” experience? Last year, I attended the She Speaks Conference in Charlotte, NC. Proverbs 31 Ministries hosted the conference, and it was a joy to see old friends, make new friends, and hug the women I served with on the Online Bible…
Summer weather in the Midwest can change in an instant. One minute, it’s hot and humid; the next, a thunderstorm rolls through. Life is unpredictable, too. Thankfully, we can focus on Jesus to get us through our storms. Life is Unpredictable Like a thunderstorm that causes chaos, certain situations in life can cause upheaval. For…
Five Bible Verses to Pray Over Adult Children “You’re a parent of an 18-year-old!” my friend said. Her excitement was contagious as others joined in, and for a split second, I regretted mentioning my son’s birthday. As I held back the tears, I wasn’t offended by what my friend said. My older son turned 18;…

Let`s talk! Why do you think Christians need a biblical understanding of suffering before difficult seasons come?

Lara Silverman shares how God redeemed skills from the legal career she lost and is now using them through writing, podcasting, interviewing others, and sharing the Gospel from her own home.
Her encouragement for anyone walking through a difficult season is simple but powerful: do not overwhelm yourself by looking too far ahead. Trust God for the grace you need today and cling to His strength moment by moment. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him!

What does it look like to find joy in suffering when God doesn’t change your circumstances? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, I chat with Lara Silverman, author of Singing Through the Fire, host of the Singing Through Fire podcast, and a former federal prosecutor whose life changed dramatically when a rare neurological illness left her bedridden. Can we really find joy amid suffering?
My conversation with Lara Silverman is one I won’t forget.
After a rare neurological illness left her bedridden, Lara lost her dream career as a federal prosecutor and later lost her husband. Yet through every heartbreaking season, she has seen God sustain her again and again.
We talk about unanswered prayers, suffering, healing, the danger of believing we simply need “more faith,” and how God can use even our hardest seasons for His glory.
Lara’s reminder is one we all need:
God’s grace is sufficient, one day at a time.

When our work feels unnoticed or unfinished, God sees it all. Whether you are raising young children, working outside the home, juggling responsibilities, or walking through a different season entirely, the work God has placed before you matters. Sometimes bold faith looks like faithfully doing the ordinary things right in front of us and trusting God to use them for His kingdom.

Welcome Friends!
My name is Missy, and I love Jesus!
I am a Christ-follower, wife, mom, author, speaker, Colson Fellow, and host of the Bold Faith Now podcast. My heart is to encourage believers to live boldly for Jesus in a world that often tells us to stay quiet, blend in, or keep our faith tucked safely in the shadows.
Through writing, speaking, and podcasting, I help believers grow in bold faith, stand firm in truth, and view the world through a biblical worldview. Because following Jesus was never meant to be passive. It is a call to shine His light, speak truth with grace, and take the next obedient step.
My prayer is simple: to point others to Jesus, encourage bold faith, and remind believers that now is the time to live courageously for Him. Join the Bold Faith community and listen to the podcast for encouragement to live out your faith with conviction, clarity, and courage.
