All to Jesus, I Surrender!

By Missy Eversole /

All to Jesus, I Surrender! “I surrender all, I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.” As I was working in my office on Monday evening, I heard the sweet lyrics to this song being sung from my older son’s room. For the past three and a half years, this song…

A Cheerful Look Brings Joy to the Heart

By Missy Eversole /

A Cheerful Look Brings Joy to the Heart It was the middle of last week when I knew that I needed a significant change in attitude. Standing on our deck, dressed in oversized black sweats, a baggy t-shirt with an oversized gray cardigan, and sunglasses to block out the sun, my look matched my attitude.…

Be Watchful! The Enemy Loves Seeing Our Fear!

By Missy Eversole /

Be Watchful! The Enemy Loves Seeing Our Fear! A thought occurred to me late last week. The enemy loves every minute of this. Please take a minute and think about it. Being confined to our homes causes tension among family members, resulting in some hurtful words exchanged. We have not set foot in our churches…

What Can We Learn from Mary Magdalene?

By Missy Eversole /

What Can We Learn from Mary Magdalene? She had gotten up early that Sunday morning. Her heart was heavy, and her sorrow was profound. Her Rabonni (teacher) was dead. He suffered the most extreme execution known at the time. She was part of the small group of followers that stayed with Him through it all.…

Celebrating Lent: 40 Days of Reflection on the Lamb of God

By Missy Eversole /

Celebrating Lent: 40 Days of Reflection on the Lamb of God Tomorrow begins the season of Lent. It’s the 40 days before Easter, excluding Sundays, that many Christians partake in as a remembrance of the forty-day fast that Jesus took in the wilderness. It’s a time of self-examination, as the Lord allows us to be…

A Gift for You – A Free Prayer Planner

A Gift for You – A Free Prayer Planner Silence and Solitude. Quiet time. Prayer time. It doesn’t matter what you call your alone time with the Lord, as long as you have quiet time with the Lord. The amount of alone time you have with the Lord is between you and Him. If you…

“Speak LORD, for Your Servant Hears!”

By Missy Eversole /

“Speak LORD, for Your Servant Hears!” In 2015, the movie War Room was released nationwide in theaters. Created by the Kendrick Brothers Production company, the movie focused on the power of prayer. It became the #1 movie in America, a feat rarely, if ever, attained by a Christian film. Personally, it changed how I viewed and…

Peace doesn’t always come when life gets quieter — sometimes it comes when we finally slow down enough to notice God.

This week on the Bold Faith Now podcast, I’m joined by counselor and author A.C. Seiple, and we talk about what it looks like to step out of hurry, listen to our bodies, and let God meet us with His peace right where we are.

If your soul feels tired or overwhelmed, this conversation offers a gentle invitation to pause and breathe again.

Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or at MissyEversole.com.

It's Week Three of Advent, and this is the week of JOY and not the fragile, temporary kind.

This is the joy that comes from Jesus Himself, and not the joy the world can’t take away.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Even if life feels heavy and the holidays stir up grief or longing, JOY isn’t something you have to force. It’s something God faithfully supplies.

May your heart catch unexpected glimpses of joy this week, joy that strengthens, uplifts, and reminds you that Jesus is near.

What’s one small joy you’ve noticed this season? For me, it’s spending a few minutes a day sitting in silence, looking at the lights on our Christmas tree, and praising Him.

If you’re feeling the pressure to do it all, be it all, and hold it all together, you are not alone.

In this week’s Bold Faith Now episode, I talk with author and speaker Grace Fox about the peace that doesn’t depend on a perfect holiday season. We walk through several names of God—like Yahweh Shalom, El Shaddai, and Emmanuel—and how they bring calm to anxious hearts.

It’s Week Two of Advent, and the week we remember that true peace isn’t found in perfect plans or even in the perfect Christmas, but in a perfect Savior.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

Peace doesn’t mean everything feels calm.

Peace means Jesus holds you steady right in the middle of what feels overwhelming.

As we light the second candle, may its soft glow remind you that His presence is your peace, today and every day.

Where do you need God’s peace to settle in your heart this week? For me, it is leaning on Jesus when the darkness of this world wants to creep in.
