Still Cultivating

By Missy Eversole /

Still Cultivating My word for the beginning of 2020 was “Cultivate.” The definition of cultivating is “to promote the growth or development.” Wanting to grow as a writer and in my faith, I choose this year to plant my roots. And then the pandemic came. We canceled our spring break trip. The last two months…

Jesus Commands Us to Love One Another

By Missy Eversole /

Jesus Commands Us to Love One Another Did you know that Jesus commands us to love one another? He doesn’t suggest that we love one another. He doesn’t say, “I think it would be good for you to love one another,” or “If you feel like loving one another, that’s your choice. I’m good with…

We Comfort Our Children, as the Lord Comforts Us

By Missy Eversole /

We Comfort Our Children, as the Lord Comforts Us May is officially here. This was supposed to be the month of celebrations and graduation parties. I knew this month would be hard, but I didn’t realize just how hard. Celebrations Will Happen! Over the weekend, my husband and I headed to five different stores searching…

Today Let’s Rejoice, Be Patient and Be Constant!

By Missy Eversole /

Today Let’s Rejoice, Be Patient and Be Constant! It’s day 3,198 of our shelter-in-place. Ok, it’s not, but it feels like it! It’s been an emotional roller-coaster these last few days. The governor extended our shelter-in-place for another month. My sons are missing their classmates and are ready to be done with e-learning, and I…

Guess What? You Cannot Hide from God!

By Missy Eversole /

Guess What? You Cannot Hide from God! When the COVID-19 shelter-in-place hit, no one was more in shock than Bailey, our soon-to-be 14-year-old cocker spaniel. His routine days began with scrambled eggs for breakfast and watching my husband and boys leave for work and school. Bailey then peacefully napped while keeping one eye on me…

All to Jesus, I Surrender!

By Missy Eversole /

All to Jesus, I Surrender! “I surrender all, I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.” As I was working in my office on Monday evening, I heard the sweet lyrics to this song being sung from my older son’s room. For the past three and a half years, this song…

A Cheerful Look Brings Joy to the Heart

By Missy Eversole /

A Cheerful Look Brings Joy to the Heart It was the middle of last week when I knew that I needed a significant change in attitude. Standing on our deck, dressed in oversized black sweats, a baggy t-shirt with an oversized gray cardigan, and sunglasses to block out the sun, my look matched my attitude.…

Be Watchful! The Enemy Loves Seeing Our Fear!

By Missy Eversole /

Be Watchful! The Enemy Loves Seeing Our Fear! A thought occurred to me late last week. The enemy loves every minute of this. Please take a minute and think about it. Being confined to our homes causes tension among family members, resulting in some hurtful words exchanged. We have not set foot in our churches…

Have you ever noticed ….

That the first person Jesus appeared to after rising from the grave was a woman?

And the shepherds were told of his birth first (via angels!), another people group society back then didn’t hold with high regard.

Romans 12 tells us to not think like the world and that includes not looking at people groups as lowly, like the world can do. ✝️

This week on the Bold Faith Now Podcast, Lori Stanley Roeleveld and I are talking about influential women from the Bible, such as the mother of James and John, and the woman at the well. We are focusing on their interactions with Jesus and the lessons they offer us.

Jesus truly does value women, just read the Gospels! 👏

To listen in, head to Apple, Spotify or Google Podcast and search “Bold Faith Now”.

Happy listening! 🎉

There are two types of upbringings in the church:

👉 Where curiosity was encouraged.
👉 Where curiosity was discouraged.

If you grew up in the church as a child, were questions invited or not?

In this week’s podcast episode, my guest and I discuss the power and vulnerability involved in asking questions, much like the queen of Sheba and the Samaritan woman did, and how their boldness in seeking answers provides a model for personal faith inquiries.

Do you see yourself as having influence?

Even if you don’t have a ton of IG or FB followers,
Even if you don’t speak from a stage,
Even if you don’t have a massive email list,
Even if you don’t have a book deal,

You. Still. Have. Great. Influence. ✨

Everyday you and I interact with others. At home. At work. At the grocery store. At soccer games. Everywhere.

People are watching how you are acting and it leaves an impression.

Today on the podcast, my guest and I (Lori Stanley Roeleveld) are chatting all about the impact and influence of women in the Bible.

We pray this episode helps you live more boldly for the Lord and that it helps you recognize the great influence you do in fact have to impact your circles and the world!

To tune in, head to the link in my IG bio for direct links. 🎧

If I asked you …

What are your family’s 5 values, would you be able to give me a list? 🤔

👉 Understanding our personal (and even business!) values is essential as it acts as a guide in decision making.

Possible values:

Integrity.
Health.
Faith.
Family.
Fun.
Safety.
Kindness.
Community.
Rest.

The list could go on and on!

In this week’s podcast episode, my guest, Lee Ann Mancini, and I discuss the significance of establishing clear family values and rules that reflect Christian beliefs. You’ll also hear us talk about the importance of understanding what children learn in public schools and how to guide them in Christian living. It’s key to know your own family values but also the values of the schools your kiddos attend, so you can see if they match!🎙️

To tune in, head to Apple, Spotify or Google Podcast and search “Bold Faith Now Podcast!”
