Three Ways the Quarantine Prepared Me For My Son Leaving for College

By Missy Eversole /

One week. Just one week until we move our son into his dorm at Baylor University. Waco is a 14-hour drive or 2 1/2- 3 hours by flight (depending on where you fly into.) I will never forget the conversation that our son and I had when we were touring the campus during Spring Break…

Five Things to Help Parents Prepare for the College Transition

By Missy Eversole /

“Did you get a chance to read the email for school today?” I asked my husband during our nightly walk. “Which school?” Craig replied. And the tears began to well up in my eyes. The Little Things that Make Me Cry Yesterday, we received emails from both the high school and the university where our…

Trusting Jesus While Preparing to Move My Son to College in Another State

By Missy Eversole /

Three weeks from today, the dynamics in our house will change. There will be a seat empty at the kitchen table. There will be only one child to get out the door for school. The house will be a little quieter without that infectious laugh that I have heard throughout the years. And if I…

Five Verses to Pray when You are Angry With God

By Missy Eversole /

With all the COVID-19 restrictions these last few months, our 14-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Bailey, was in dire need of grooming. One of the best-known things about Cockers is that their hair grows incredibly long, and when maintained, it’s quite beautiful. However, for our family, it’s easier to keep Bailey shaved down. It’s cooler on him,…

Finding Shelter Amid the Storms

By Missy Eversole /

Throughout the past few years, I’ve never really liked how our front porch looked. In my mind, a front porch should look inviting and warm. Ours looked dark and cold. With a metal table and two chairs, I tried my best to spruce it up with decorative pillows, a bright wreath on the door, or…

Five Ways to Quiet Your Heart

By Missy Eversole /
,

Five Ways to Quiet Your Heart No one cried out of frustration. No one whined because they didn’t get to what they wanted to do. No one argued with one another. No one asked the dreaded question, “Are we there yet?” No one got mad at her family because they were getting on her last…

Celebrating My First Father’s Day Without My Dad

By Missy Eversole /

Celebrating My First Father’s Day Without My Dad This past Sunday, we celebrated Father’s Day. The boys and I enjoyed our day with Craig. We took a drive around a lake, laughed, and enjoyed spending time together. My heart hurt, though. Not because of anything that Craig did; he is an amazing dad to our…

Letting Go, Learning to Fly and Loving Unconditionally

Letting Go, Learning to Fly and Loving Unconditionally Letting Go I am now the proud parent of a high school graduate. Originally scheduled for May 17th, my son was finally able to switch the tassel from right to left this past Sunday. Thanks to COVID, instead of sitting in an air-conditioned church sanctuary, we sat…

Still Cultivating

By Missy Eversole /

Still Cultivating My word for the beginning of 2020 was “Cultivate.” The definition of cultivating is “to promote the growth or development.” Wanting to grow as a writer and in my faith, I choose this year to plant my roots. And then the pandemic came. We canceled our spring break trip. The last two months…

Jesus Commands Us to Love One Another

By Missy Eversole /

Jesus Commands Us to Love One Another Did you know that Jesus commands us to love one another? He doesn’t suggest that we love one another. He doesn’t say, “I think it would be good for you to love one another,” or “If you feel like loving one another, that’s your choice. I’m good with…

Comfort zones are comforting, but …

God often asks us to step out of them in order to walk by faith and obedience. 👣

My podcast guest this week and I talk about how to live boldly for the Lord and why getting out of our comfort zones is such a worthy discomfort to pursue!

Great joy can be found on the other side once you see why God had you take that faith leap! ✝️

Do you wonder if you are leaving a legacy?

Social media usage leads to comparison, and even in Christian circles, we can sometimes find ourselves questioning if we are having enough impact on the world around us. This is especially true when we see on Instagram and Facebook all the big things others are doing for God. ✨

I really enjoyed my conversation with Billie Jauss this week on the podcast, who sheds light on this very topic in such a beautiful way.

In this podcast episode, you’ll hear Billie recount how her initial dream of missionary work transitioned to serving God in professional baseball, supporting her husband’s career, and seizing the opportunities to minister to people in that unique environment.

The Bold Faith Now Podcast can be found on Apple, Spotify or Google Podcast. 😀

Happy listening!

Let’s talk about healthy relationships.

They take work.

They are messy.

They are inconvenient at times.

But they are SO worth the effort. Such beauty, fulfillment and meaning can be found in enjoying rich and thriving relationships with those we do life with at home and work and everywhere in between. 🎉

Check out the latest episode on my podcast where I sit down and talk with author Billie Jauss, who shares about her new release, “Baseball Family: Nine Core Qualities for Developing Healthy Relationships.

Does the uncertainty of the future scare you?

I encourage you to remember in the midst of unknowns that your God has known characteristics. And the future doesn’t surprise Him. He is already planning for it and preparing you for it. 💕

My podcast guest this week, Julie, shares about raising a daughter with disabilities and tackling fears about the future. She shares more on this topic in her book, which we also discuss in this episode.

I pray this episode blesses you! 🙏
