“Girl, Pray!” – Beth Moore

A few weeks ago, I watched Beth Moore’s Living Proof simulcast from the comfort of my couch.

Armed with my computer, my Bible, and my notebook, I settled in for a good day of teaching and worshipping. And what a day it was!

The topic for the day was prayer and two simple words: “Girl, Pray!”

A Times I Feel My Prayers Can Be Dull, Stale, and Monotonous

Prayer has played an important part in my life for the past few years. My early morning quiet time with God has resulted in some in-depth conversation, many tears, answers, and praises.

At times, I do find that I’ve plateaued in my prayers. I feel as if I am going through the same motions and often find my prayers dull, stale, monotonous, and wondering if God is sick of hearing me pray. He’s not. The Lord loves communication with His children, and the self-doubt that comes in is the enemy, himself. He wants nothing more than for me to give up and go about my day, focusing on the world and its problems.

If you have never been to a Living Proof conference or simulcast, you may not know that the topic isn’t announced until Beth herself reveals it is in her opening monologue.

When she stated that we would be discussing prayer, my heart skipped a beat! I needed this message more than I realized.

Prayer is Important, and It’s Effective

We reflected on seven different ways that prayer is effective and why we need to do it throughout the day. It needs to become part of your daily routine. When the enemy starts stirring up trouble, prayer is our defense mechanism.

Are you worried about how you will make it through this next round of COVID-19 closures? Girl, pray!

Are you concerned about your finances? Girl, pray!

Are you worried that you will not be able to gather with your family during the holidays? Girl, pray!

Are you losing sleep over something that is out of your control? Girl, pray!

Whatever keeps you from living the life that the Lord intends for you to live, now is the time to pray!

Pray for America

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the significance of what today is in our country. No matter what the outcome of the Presidential election is, one thing is for sure. God is still in control.

Pray for America. Pray for our fellow Americans. Pray that the hate toward one another stops. Pray that instead of viewing someone by their political party, view them as a child of God.

Girl, Pray!

November is here, and it’s time to reflect on the blessings the Lord has given us throughout 2020. Yes, despite what this year has brought us, we can still count our blessings. Click here to download this resource.
