Kick Off Your Summer Reading with a Great Book and Starbucks!

Summer is finally here, and for years, I’ve always associated summer with one thing – reading!

Summer Reading

During my childhood, I would participate in the summer program at my local library. Hopping on my bike and heading downtown to the library, I couldn’t wait to walk through the bookcases upon bookcases looking for that perfect book to immerse myself in.

I’d walk out with a stack of books, knowing that I would be back the next week to replenish my supply. Escaping into the world of books, I drowned out my surroundings and let my imagination flow.

In my elementary and middle school years, books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, the Nancy Drew mysteries, and the ever-popular 80’s teenage saga, “Sweet Valley High,” was dog-eared and bookmarked.

Throughout high school and college, my reading time was replaced by friends and activities. It was only when I became a mom that I picked up books again and took the time needed to dive deep into them.

Today, stacks of books surround me in various topics of non-fiction, fiction, historical, and spiritual growth. Though for some reason, I focus more on fiction rather than non-fiction during the summer.

That is why I specifically created something special for you!
