We Comfort Our Children, as the Lord Comforts Us May is officially here. This was supposed to be the month of celebrations and graduation parties. I knew this month would be hard, but I didn’t realize just how hard. Celebrations Will Happen! Over the weekend, my husband and I headed to five different stores searching…
Five Bible Verses to Pray Over Adult Children “You’re a parent of an 18-year-old!” my friend said. Her excitement was contagious as others joined in, and for a split second, I regretted mentioning my son’s birthday. As I held back the tears, I wasn’t offended by what my friend said. My older son turned 18;…
*Tomorrow, June 1, is the 2nd anniversary of my younger son’s surgery. I wrote this devotion last year on the first anniversary but didn’t feel called to share it at that time. Lessons from a Whitewashed Hospital Room “Mom, I can’t do this anymore!” my son moaned with immense pain. Standing by his hospital bed…

A Love So Strong and Deep *My monthly series, Women of the Bible, returns today. Verses to Pray for Your Student During Finals Week Happy Friday my friends! If your household is anything like ours, not only are you preparing for Christmas, but your high school children are preparing for finals! The tiredness and stress have overtaken my usually joyful children. I remind them daily to rely on the Lord…
Thankful for Family Memories – Camping This past weekend was bittersweet for my family and me. After a few weeks of praying and family meetings, we decided to sell our camper and give up our amazing spot at a beautiful campground. The memories of all the fun we had while camping came flooding back to…
Only Jesus Happy Friday my friends! Yesterday, I heard the new Casting Crowns song on my local Christian music station, WCIC, and I wanted to share it with you. I have to admit, this song brought tears me to tears. Yes, I want to leave a legacy for my future generations, but the most…
Lessons that I Have Learned from My Children Being the only female in a house full of males (including the dog!) can be interesting at times. Aside from the strange smells, and the unusual sounds coming from them, life with my male tribe is something that I would not trade for all the money in the world.…

What happens when heartbreak hits, and your faith is all you have left to hold on to?
In today’s episode, I sit down with @jodi.snowdon , podcaster and author of Depth Growing Through Heartbreak to Strength, to talk about walking through deep loss, grief, and disappointment, and discovering how God meets us right in the middle of it. Jodi shares her personal journey through divorce, miscarriage, and losing a close friend, and how those seasons didn’t break her faith, but deepened it.
This conversation is a powerful reminder that pain is never wasted. God uses it to grow us, shape us, and prepare us to help others.

Five Ways to Stay Connected to God in the Summer - Here are just some of the things that I’ve come up with to get me through the rest of the summer.
🌸Listen to the Bible on my phone. As I travel this summer, either by car or plane, I can enjoy God’s Word through various apps on my phone.
🌸Read some great fiction Christian books. For me, summer is the time to get caught up on some great Christian fiction books.
🌸Participate in an online Bible Study.
🌸Make every effort possible to go to Sunday church service. Yes, this is hard (especially when you want to sleep in!), but I encourage you to continue to attend your church service throughout the summer.
🌸Take a walk and enjoy God’s Creation. In the summer months, take some time to enjoy God’s creation around you!
WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU ADD TO THIS LIST?

You may not always see what God is doing in the middle of your pain, but He is not absent. His fingerprints are still there, and He often reveals His presence through Scripture, community, and the courage to keep taking the next right step.
Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him!
And while you`re at it, check out Lindsey`s book: Unbeaten https://a.co/d/0el5dL4M
They were just like you!
Sarai couldn’t have a baby. Leah felt unloved. David ran for his life and Job lost everything.
Just about every Bible hero at one time or another went through a life-changing trial. As you read through Scriptures you can almost hear them ask…Why does life have to be so hard? Difficult times often leave Christians searching the Bible for answers to the most difficult questions — Does God hear me when I pray? Why isn’t He doing anything? Does He even care?
Author Lindsey Bell understands the struggle. She battled for years with secondary infertility. As she endured medical testing and numerous miscarriages, she searched the Bible for answers to these tough questions. Her studies led her through the stories of biblical figures, big and small.
She discovered that while life brings trials, faith brings victory. And when we rely on God for the strength to get us through, we can emerge Unbeaten.
