You know what’s better than a Friday after a long week?
A Friday that kicks off a three day weekend!
Here’s to family time and catching up on sleep!
The fruit of the Spirit has been on my heart this week. I struggle daily with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
This week patience was on the top of my list.
I’m not a patient woman. So, I have to question myself as to why? Do I lose my patience quickly because the situation is out of my control? The worse is when I am in heavy traffic, or I have to deal with road construction – which in the state of Illinois, seems to be on every road! Ok, maybe not on every road, but on every other road!
I realized this week that I could become a more of a patient person if I would leave a little earlier from my home to my destination. It takes me 20 minutes to get to work and school, and the road that I travel on daily has been under construction for the last four months. This week I made an effort to leave home 10 minutes earlier than usual time and guess what? I didn’t lose my patience, because I allowed myself some extra time to get to my destination. I call this a work in progress!
Our Lord is a Patient Lord!
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (my emphasis)
If the Lord and be patient with a strong-willed woman like me, I can be patient in traffic!
Have a wonderful weekend!
