Jesus Give Us Peace
Happy Friday!
During September, the “Weekend Inspiration” will focus on a verse to pray for our children. This week’s focus is on peace.
The excitement of going back to school has now passed, and the reality of daily homework is upon us. The words “stressed” and “tired” are frequently used by our two high schoolers.
Pray for a Peace of Mind
Technology can be beneficial for us, but it can also be a source of frustration; as in the case of our son. He submitted an online assignment on time, but something happened in cyberspace, and the teacher didn’t receive it. This created a missing assignment for him. As frustrated as he was, I was even more frustrated! I could not do anything to fix the situation. After stewing over it for a while, I felt calm. I knew what to do. I prayed John 14:7. I prayed for peace of mind. I prayed for patience. I prayed for a solution to his problem. He did what he needed to do. He resubmitted the assignment and took the late grade on it. As frustrating as this was, we both learned from it and my son has a plan in place to ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

The ESV Student Study Bible says this about John 14:27 “Peace describes the absence of conflict and also the presence of blessing. Such blessing comes especially in a right relationship with God.”
We face conflict every day. Whether it is with one another, with our computer, or something else that is pulling us away from the Lord. It gets tiring, but God is there to lift us up and bless us. He gives us the peace we need to get through life. The world can cause so much conflict for us, but Lord gives us a simple five-letter word to lean on.
How can I be praying for you this weekend? Please email me anytime with your prayer requests. I would love to pray for you!
Tuesday’s (9/11) post will be entitled “Five Verses to Pray when Your Heart is Broken” and a reflection back on the terrible day in America. How is it possible that it’s been 17 years, since 9/11?!?!?!
Have a blessed weekend!
Welcome Friends!
My name is Missy, and I love Jesus!
I am a Christ-follower, wife, mom, author, speaker, Colson Fellow, and host of the Bold Faith Now podcast. My heart is to encourage believers to live boldly for Jesus in a world that often tells us to stay quiet, blend in, or keep our faith tucked safely in the shadows.
Through writing, speaking, and podcasting, I help believers grow in bold faith, stand firm in truth, and view the world through a biblical worldview. Because following Jesus was never meant to be passive. It is a call to shine His light, speak truth with grace, and take the next obedient step.
My prayer is simple: to point others to Jesus, encourage bold faith, and remind believers that now is the time to live courageously for Him. Join the Bold Faith community and listen to the podcast for encouragement to live out your faith with conviction, clarity, and courage.
