Welcome, Friends!

I’m Missy — a Christ-follower, wife, mom, author, Colson Fellow, speaker, and host of the Bold Faith Now podcast.

My heart is to encourage believers to live boldly for Jesus in a world that often tells us to stay quiet, blend in, or keep our faith tucked safely in the shadows.

But friend, this is not the time for quiet, comfortable Christianity. This is the time to step forward, stand firm in truth, speak with love, and let the light of Christ shine through our everyday lives.

I know what it feels like to wrestle with fear, doubt, and insecurity. But I also know what happens when God keeps nudging your heart: He gives you the courage, boldness, and strength to take the next obedient step.

In October 2021, I released my first book, Transformed, Not Conformed: Embracing a Life-Changing Approach to Spiritual Habits, a resource designed to help believers grow deeper in their walk with Christ through simple, life-changing spiritual habits.

Through my writing, speaking, and the Bold Faith Now podcast, I encourage believers to grow in God’s Word, embrace a fearless faith journey, live with unwavering courage, and boldly follow Jesus right where God has placed them.

Because bold faith is not about having it all together; it is about saying yes to Jesus. Sometimes that means showing up, speaking truth, trusting God, taking the next obedient step, and shining for Jesus in a world that desperately needs His light.

Join the Bold Faith community and let it encourage you to stand firm, shine bright, and live boldly for Jesus.

5 Verses to Pray Over Your Adult Children

5 Bible Verses to Pray Over Adult Children – A Free Resource

Five Bible Verses to Pray Over Adult Children “You’re a parent of an 18-year-old!” my friend said. Her excitement was contagious as others joined in, and for a split second, I regretted mentioning my son’s birthday. As I held back the tears, I wasn’t offended by what my friend said. My older son turned 18;…

Casting our cares on God helps us surrender what we were never meant to carry alone.

Have you ever thought, "I want to study the Bible for myself, but I don't know enough to even know where to start?"

You are not alone.

This week on the Bold Faith Now podcast, I'm chatting with Angie Baughman about overcoming the intimidation that can keep us from digging deeper into Scripture.

Angie shares her simple “Step-by-Step Method” and reminds us we don’t need to be theologians to open God's Word and begin learning.

Start where you are. Take one verse. Ask questions. Look for God's character. And trust the Holy Spirit to guide you.

What if you fall in love on the brink of death? Singing Through Fire invites readers into the Job-like true story of a young woman who loses everything—and dares to ask why a good God allows it.

When Stanford Law graduate Lara Palanjian collapses on her dream job, she never imagines it will lead to four years bedridden—or to the love of her life.

Enter Matthew Silverman: a witty, wise, and impossibly joyful youth pastor and professor facing terminal cancer. What begins with a few random encounters soon ignites an extraordinary, God-written love story that neither of them saw coming.

As their unlikely romance unfolds between medical crises, late-night laughter, and unexpected musical performances, Matthew’s unshakable faith challenges everything Lara thinks she knows about God’s goodness—and what it means to walk with Christlike faith, resilience, and joy in the face of overwhelming grief and suffering.

But with time against them, one question looms louder than the rest: What if this gift is only for a moment?

Surprisingly funny and spiritually rich, Singing Through Fire is a modern-day “Job meets Lucille Ball.” It explores what it means to suffer, love, and even laugh and make music while your life is burning down around you. It eloquently gives voice to the aching questions many sufferers quietly carry—then takes readers inside the breathtaking story of two people who found miraculous love and defiant joy amid heartbreaking loss.

It reveals how God can use even our deepest pain to write the most beautiful love stories—even on the cusp of eternity.

Lara Silverman shares how God redeemed skills from the legal career she lost and is now using them through writing, podcasting, interviewing others, and sharing the Gospel from her own home.
Her encouragement for anyone walking through a difficult season is simple but powerful: do not overwhelm yourself by looking too far ahead. Trust God for the grace you need today and cling to His strength moment by moment. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him!

What does it look like to find joy in suffering when God doesn’t change your circumstances? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, I chat with Lara Silverman, author of Singing Through the Fire, host of the Singing Through Fire podcast, and a former federal prosecutor whose life changed dramatically when a rare neurological illness left her bedridden. Lara shares how God has sustained her through the loss of her health, her dream career, and her husband, Matt, and how He has taught her that His grace is truly sufficient.

You will be blessed listening to this one!
